Continuing on from the theme of the newly refurbished guestrooms, inspiration came from the local context of Maida Vale and the globally renowned recording studio, Abbey Road Studios. We proposed adding playful elements to the hotel’s public areas whilst establishing continuity throughout the various spaces.
We further explored the theme of music and sound and translated this research into a narrative for the design. This is shown in the interiors through patterned wallpaper and carpets, curved forms, furniture placement, colour and artworks.
